In addition to being the author of this blog, I’m a published novelist and freelance writer. I have a Ph.D. in English from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an M.F.A. in creative writing from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. I’ve worked with authors to improve their writing for more than 30 years. I have also provided manuscript analysis for several publishers, in addition to leading group workshops and speaking to groups of all sizes.
I’m happy to work with you to provide the following services:
Writing workshops for small groups (up to 15 people)
Proofreading
Copy editing
Developmental editing (for non-native speakers of English)
Manuscript Consultation
Project consultation
Writing Coach
What’s a Writing Coach?
If you’ve ever dreamed of writing a book but haven’t found a way to make that dream a reality, you might benefit from having a writing coach. At our scheduled meetings, I’ll help you set goals and find ways to achieve them; I’ll also help you work through the resistance that’s keeping you from achieving those goals. Finally, I’ll read up to 20 pages of your work per coaching session and give you honest feedback on your project.
If you need an accountability partner–someone who will help you set goals for yourself and keep you honest about whether or not you’re meeting those goals–I’d like to be that person for you.
